Project Eagle - Project - Home

elcome to our site! For the upcoming CyberFair tournament, a group of students from our school, Christian Life, decided to make a website that would reflect the cultural and historical backgrounds of Rockford and the surrounding communities. So far the whole experience has been very rewarding. Not only do we have a greater appreciation for our community, but we have also been able to spread this appreciation we have gained over the globe in the form of this web site.

Praise for our website has come from many sources, the most notable of which is John Groh, the Head of the Chamber of Commerce in Rockford. Regarding Project Eagle, Mr. Groh said he was impressed by the efforts Rockford's youth was taking to ensure a continued interest in the culture and diversity of everyone in our our community. Mr. Groh went on to say that he hopes people of all ethnic backgrounds and diversities will come to visit Rockford and share in its rich culture.

You may have noticed that our team's name and project's title both share a similar theme: eagles. There are a number of reasons why we chose this particular theme. The first and perhaps the most important reason was to show our support for our school, whose mascot happens to be the eagle. Our school has been so helpful and accomodating; we couldn't have done this without them!!!

Another reason lies mainly in the title: "An Eagle Eye on Rockford." Eagles are known for their keen sense of sight; they are able to search for creatures wandering hundreds of feet below them as they soar through the air. Our team hopes to do the same with Rockford. Like an eagle, we first analyzed Rockford from an overhead view. Then, we narrowed down our scope to the four or fives areas that we felt truly defined our community. With these locations in mind, members of our group set out to visit them and gather all of the needed information in order to make this project, and website, a success.

We hope we have accomplished this...
