Credits for FREE SUPPLIES through Office Depot’s “5% Back to Schools” Program!
Every time our teachers, staff members, students and families provide the school’s 5% Back to Schools Program ID number (70034456 ) when purchasing school supplies at Office Depot, our school receives credits equal to 5% of the qualifying purchases to use for FREE SUPPLIES. Purchases can be made at any Office Depot retail locations, by calling 1-800-GO-DEPOT or online at www.officedepot.com.

Empties to Cash! Last year’s total was $1,000!
The money helped purchase library and reference books, tables, and AV equipment. So continue to help Christian Life Schools by KEEPING THOSE EMPTY INK CARTRIDGES & OLD CELL PHONES COMING! Once again, empty laser toner cartridges are being accepted! The collection will continue year-round.

Elementary Dismissal
Dismissal is at 3:00! We are asking ALL parents to remain in the front lobby until school is officially dismissed at 3:00. This helps our teachers use every minute of their day. Important instructions are given out at the end of the day and we do not want our students to be distracted by people waiting outside of their rooms.

Inside or Outside Pickup
We are planning on an outside pickup if the flag below the American flag is GREEN, inside pickup if the flag below the American flag is RED. Through March 31, student should be picked up from their classrooms. There will be no outside pickup during this month due to the unpredictable weather. Beginning in April, students may be outside for pickup. Watch for the colored flags.

Dress for Colder Weather
Elementary students will go outside as long as the wind-chill is at or above 11º degrees. Please make sure your children are prepared for the days ahead. Spring is a difficult time to anticipate the temperature, so please make sure every child comes to school with a jacket.

School Entrance

All parents and visitors must use the main entrances. If the door is locked, please use the buzzer (located to the left) and a secretary will let you enter. Please do not be offended if we do not recognize you, we may ask a few questions before you are allowed into the building. This is for the safety of everyone in the building.

Animals
PLEASE DO NOT bring animals into the building unless it is a special “Pet Day” in your child’s classroom. Many of our children have allergies or have a fear of dogs and other animals due to past experiences. If you bring an animal in your car when picking up or dropping off your child, do not leave them unattended.

Morning Care
Early morning care is being provided for Elementary and Middle school students who arrive before 7:45 am. Elementary students are supervised in the south gym or on the playground. Middle school students are supervised in the amphitheater.

Sick Child?
If your student is sick, please call the office to let us know by 9:00 am. — 815-877-5749.

Office Need
The offices are in need of Tylenol and Advil. (Chewable Tylenol for elementary as many students prefer these tablets over regular.) Donations of cough drops are also appreciated. If you are willing to donate these, please bring them in to the offices.

S.T.A.R. Reader
S.T.AR. Reader (Stop Today And Read) will begin Monday, Sept. 8th. An updated list of the quizzes available is available on-line. This list is helpful when looking for books at your local public library. Make sure to only pick books that fall within your child’s current reading level.

PowerSchool Online Grades
This service provides all parents (K-12) the opportunity to check their student's grades on a daily basis, or as often as you would like. Simply go online at http://ps.clschools.org/public/. Enter the username and password (which may be obtained from the office), and you are set.

Cell Phones
Students may bring cell phones to school. However, cell phones are NOT TO BE SEEN OR USED for any reason during the school day (8a to 3p).

Seasonal Dress
3/4 pants and shorts are considered seasonal dress and may be worn up until October 15th. They may be worn again starting May 1st. Thank you for your cooperation.
